Our team is growing again and we are looking at hiring 2 new people to join us. One opportunity is for a qualified, or studying, ATT member to head the taxation services for a growing Northwest based accountancy practice. The second is for a payroll administrator.

Job description for the Tax Lead

The key responsibilities of this Head of Taxation are:

  • The review/preparation of Self-assessment tax returns
  • The review/preparation of company tax returns
  • Providing proactive tax advice to clients where necessary
  • Assist in terms of general and specific support to Director and Managers as required.
  • Develop effective client relationships

The successful applicant will:

  • Someone who is ambitious and wants to develop a career.
  • A person who will lead the provision of tax services to clients and has sufficient experience in a practice environment
  • Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Ability to travel to client’s premises when required
  • Knowledge of accounting systems such as Iris
  • The ability to identify opportunities

Job Description for the Payroll Administrator

The key responsibilities of this payroll administrator are:

  • To process weekly, monthly, and 4-weekly payroll for our clients
  • Track and calculate holiday entitlement
  • Calculate and process statutory payments
  • Claim CIS suffered and process sub-contractors’ details and pay
  • Process pension schemes through the payroll and upload the contributions to the appropriate scheme
  • To communicate with HMRC on behalf of our clients
  • Calculate Directors salaries
  • Develop effective client relationships

The successful applicant will:

  • Be someone who has a keen eye for details
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to communicate both in person and on the phone
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Able to work alone
  • Must be able to use spreadsheets and able to think analytically
  • Knowledge of Moneysoft and Sage 50 Payroll (desired)
